Inflation rate stable, but stagnant, in BC

A report released this morning from Statistics Canada shows the inflation rate is staying unchanged nationally and provincially.

Nationally, they report a rate of 2.1% for August, the same as July, while provincially , it’s sitting at 1.4%, which is also the same number it held in July.

Analyst Julia White says though the rate is holding steady, tit means the province isn’t showing any growth, either.

“BC is actually ninth, just above Prince Edward Island,” she says.

White says the top contributors to BC’s GDP are: electricity, passenger vehicles, meat, and telephone services.
