Fire Information Officer Navi Saini says the weather is expecting hotter conditions to return later this week.
“While it is cooler and there are less winds in the forecast for now, unfortunately we are expecting unstable conditions again in the form of thunderstorms.”
As a result, this is likely to cause more delays in returning people home, especially for evacuees from other areas.

While 100 Mile House residents are going back, the City of Williams Lake is still waiting for the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) to give the green light.
MOTI Executive Director Ed Miska says criteria still needs to be met before they can fully open Highway 97.
“The highway needs to be safe from fires, the area needs to be secured, and from that, we need input from the RCMP and the local authorities. We have to make sure that safety of all parties remains paramount.”
Fire suppression costs have gone up to $132.3 million since the beginning of wildfire season.
