New ICBC campaign aims to curb handheld phone use while driving

ICBC is beefing up its campaign against distracted driving. This comes shortly after an announcement that they were raising the annual cost of insurance by 5.2 percent.

Diana Pozer with ICBC explained just how dangerous the problem has become.

“Its now the second leading cause of car crash fatalities and it accounts for 88 deaths a year in the province.”

Poser went on to say that along with the RCMP stepping up enforcement they themselves have all new radio and television ads as well as a sticker that is available at all drivers centers.
