Construction is nearly done on the East Line Activity Centre, located near Giscome Elementary.
Regional Director Kevin Dunphy says no date has been set to open the centre, but a celebration is guaranteed.
“For when the community centre and school will be open, I think we’re just going to be sitting on that until we have some understanding of what’s going to happen with the starting of school this fall,” he says.
Dunphy says numerous groups in the community will use the centre for a variety of functions.
It was voted on earlier in the summer, with residents in favour of raising taxes to see the Centre built.
