City survey shows road maintenance top of mind

Residents of Prince George were surveyed and results show the number one concern for citizens is road maintenance.

Research company, Mustel Group provided the results of their week-long survey to city council Monday, which found that 35% of those polled listed the state of the city’s roads as their biggest concern, with snow removal second at 13%.

Those surveyed also said they would like to see snow removal increased in the city, with increasing the the road maintenance budget coming in second, followed by garbage and recycling pickup.

When it comes to taxes, the survey says 34% would rather see taxes go up 3% than see a cut to services.

The research company conducted 400 telephone interviews over the first week of July, and their data will be used by council and staff when they draft the next budget in October.
