Big Squeeze crushes donation expectations

Big Brothers’ Big Sisters’ “Big Squeeze” was a huge success.
The city-wide lemonade competition set out to raise $4,000 on Wednesday, but came away with $7,311.99 thanks to donations from the community.
That number leaves Executive Director Tim Bennett blown away. He says the funds will be split among their mentoring programs.
“We have our traditional community-based programs, school-based programs, we currently run two group-based programs and are planning on running two pilots this September to ensure that we continue to serve children in Prince George and ensure that children who need a mentor get a mentor,” Bennett says.
Integris Credit Union claimed the coveted Lemon Trophy for most sales, while Community Futures won the taste test.
