Fire starts are still on the minds of crews and residents around the Prince George Fire Centre.
Not all are as large as the Tenakihi fire, which sits at over 49,000 hectares, but one on North Chilko Road just outside of Vanderhoof has nearby homeowners worried.
Fire Information Officer Jill Kelsh says it is sitting at 14 hectares.
“We did have tankers on it [Tuesday] that were actioning it, we actually had crews on it all through the night that were working on it,” Kelsh says. “They will be back working on it [Wednesday], we also had an aircraft on the fire, [Tues.] night and I’m sure it will be back up there again [Weds.]”
23 new starts were reported yesterday, that sprang up over the long weekend, all but two were caused by lightning.
