If you wanted that hot dry spell back, you’re in luck because the weather forecast over the long weekend is calling for highs of 30 degrees with nothing but sun.
Meteorologist Doug Lundquist warns that with hot dry weather comes the risk of thunderstorms for Northern BC.
“We’re at the hottest time of summer, so any thunderstorms we get this time of year can be pretty severe,” he says. “There’s always the risk of lightning, winds or hail to watch for, also the heat is something to protect ourselves from, make sure we hydrate and take protection from the sun.”
With lightning also comes the risk of wildfires, with the Prince George Fire Centre seeing 21 new fire stars on Wednesday.
