The three designs released this week include a shot of Howe Sound, the snowy Purcell Mountains, and a Kermode bear. The three – in partnership with ICBC – were unveiled by Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Todd Stone and Environment Minister Mary Polak, the latter of whom says she encourages “everyone to show their British Columbia pride and purchase a BC Parks licence plate to do their part to help protect these spectacular natural spaces for future generations,” in a prepared statement.
All net proceeds from the $50 specialty plates will help preserve and protect BC’s parks, which host about 23 million visits per year.
The plates are a part of the BC Parks Future Strategy, which is putting nearly $22.9 million into things like hiring new park rangers and making 1,900 more campsites.
The license plates will be available as of January 29th.
