Early retirement is in the cards for Patrick Kukko.
The Prince George man had the winning the Lotto Max Maxmillions ticket for the December 30th draw and won himself $1 million.
Even with when the machine flashing “winner,” the veteran helicopter engineer says couldn’t believe he’d won.
“When I put the ticket in the check machine, about three times I had to look at it to confirm I what I was seeing. I didn’t have my glasses; I had to go get my glasses then I looked at it and went ‘No way!'”
He’s planning to invest the money and be semi-retired for the next year or so. While the money grows, he’s scheduling time with loved ones.
“Just spend more time with my kids and family and that kind of stuff. take the occasional good trip and find just a nice, good happy place.”

Kukko adds he’s been playing ever since Lotto 6/49 came out and buys them when he remembers. He’s proof that persistence pays off.
“You only need one to win and that’s all I usually buy!”
