Quesnel employee held up at gunpoint

Mounties are investigating another armed robbery in West Quesnel.

Sergeant Chris Riddle says they were called to a business in the 400 block of Elliott Street at around 5:30PM Thursday night.

“It is alleged the male suspect, who had his face covered, entered the business, produced a handgun, and forced the lone employee to provide him with cash and cigarettes. The suspect then fled on foot.”

Riddle says Quesnel RCMP, with some help from the Prince George Police Dog Service, conducted patrols of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

This robbery follows one that occurred in the evening of Thursday, January 12th at a business on Anderson Drive.

Riddle says it is too early to say if the two robberies are linked.
