The Prince George RCMP, and their vehicles, were filled with the holiday spirit at their first ever ‘Pack A PC’ event on Saturday.
For six hours in the day, mounties were at all four Save-On-Foods locations in PG, collecting non-perishable food items from the public for the Prince George Council of Seniors.
Officers, detachment staff, and volunteers were able to fill an estimated 20 police cars right to the roof.
Corporal Craig Douglass says the community’s generosity was remarkable and thanks the public for their partnership.
“We believed this would be a successful event, but we had no idea that it would be this successful.”
Shoppers and residents also donated cash and grocery store gift cards and the total amount will be given to the Council of Seniors next week.
