Cariboo sweeps Canadians to remain in top spot of BCMML

The Cariboo Cougars continued their domination on the BCMML on Sunday with a 5-1 victory over the Greater Vancouver Canadians at the Richmond Oval.

Jeremy Gervais got the Cougars on the board with only goal of the first period slipping a Daine Dubois feed past GVR goaltender Nick Hoem.

In the second, the offense would pick up for both squads as Dubois and Devin Sutton lit the lamp on the man advantage for Cariboo while Radek Hewson replied for Greater Vancouver making it 3-1 after 40 minutes.

Reid Perepeluk scored the Cougars lone even-strength marker of the contest capitalizing on another pass from Dubois who led Cariboo with three points.

Brennan Malgunas scored the 5th goal for Cariboo, the fourth of the contest on the power-play.

Marcus Allen picked up the win in net.

Cariboo, unbeaten in 11, improves to 14-1-1 on the season and return to Kin 1 next weekend when they play the Vancouver NW Giants on Saturday at 3:45 and Sunday at 10AM.
