Two projects to improve access to Highway 97 in Prince George are now complete.
A $400,000 project at the Massey Drive access lengthened the acceleration and deceleration lanes on the on and off ramps to make merging easier and safer.
At 5th Avenue, $300,000 was spent on adding a deceleration lane to the highway to improve right turns onto 5th and reduce congestion at the intersection.
“Local motorists are going to welcome the safety features that are built into both of these highway improvement projects,” says Mike Morris, MLA for Prince George-Mackenzie. “The more efficient flow of traffic helps make our local economy run more smoothly and makes us more competitive as a region.”
The projects were part of the multi-billion dollar BC On the Move – a 10 year plan that will see the Ministry of Transportation and infrastructure invest $2.7 billion on improvements to the provincial transportation network in the next three years.
