The City and the Prince George Chamber of Commerce are giving small businesses a chance to give their feedback on what it’s like to run a business here.
Much like Talktober for citizens, BizRide will take place in five major commercial areas throughout the city and consult with a total of 29 small businesses.
One of the program’s aims is to streamline communication with the city.
“Our members would come to us and then they would have to go to the City,” says Cindi Pohl, President of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce. “It was all separate and we thought, why not open it up? It’s a vehicle to invite businesses to have a conversation. They were very excited about it and we got many of our members to participate. We are all going on different routes and visiting different businesses, getting a chance to talk with them.”
Nolan Nicholson is the owner of TrimLine signs and electrical, one of the participating businesses.
“I do think the city does a good job with what they’re doing right now. I do sign permits and electrical permits and I’ve been reasonably happy with most of them. There are some thing that happened in the past that I would like to talk about that I haven’t yet had the opportunity to.”
BizRide is part of the City’s efforts to mark Small Business Month in BC. It will take place downtown, in the Hart, the Carter Light Industrial Area, the BCR Industrial Area and College Heights.
