$85,000 has been raised by Costco members in the north during the company’s annual Children’s Miracle Network Fundraiser.
It’s in partnership with Spirit of the North who has announced some new pediatric equipment is coming to Prince George’s University Hospital.
Spokesperson, Esther Prosser says the Panda Warmer has become a valuable resource for nurses.
“These are used with brand new babies when they are born and it’s a really great warmer, the heat is directed toward the babies and when it’s born it will be placed in the Panda Warmer while they check the baby if it needs oxygen.”
Since the Prince George Costco is considered to be remote any amount raised during the fundraiser stays in the community.
Prosser adds the fundraiser enjoyed its best year to date. “This has been an annual event Costco has run since the 90’s so it’s gone on for quite some time so this is their biggest fundraiser yet.”
The money was collected in May.
