RCMP investigate downtown stabbing that sent one man to hospital

RCMP were on the scene of what is believed to have been a stabbing in downtown Prince George last night.

“The officers attended to the male and found what they believe to be stab wounds,” says Corporal Craig Douglass. “They administered first aid and called in the ambulance service and the fire department.”

Douglass says the incident took place just before 7pm.

“[The man] was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he remains at this point. The investigation is in the early stages. We’ve called in our major crimes section to investigate it with the assistance of our forensic investigation section and other specialized units as needed.”

Douglass says they’re seeking the public’s help to determine what happened.

“People out there, we believe, have information to provide us that can further the investigation. So we are looking to speak to those individuals. They can call the detachment or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.”
