Prince George’s first ever Bike Rave is tomorrow night.
Dressing both themselves and their bikes, boards, or blades in flashy colours, riders will meet by the Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park bandstand at 9 PM. From there, they’ll bike around to their favourite songs.
Inspired by a similar event in Vancouver, co-organiser Becky Dochstader says this is a celebration of “bikes, friends, people, and all things silly.” She’s looking forward to the whole event, especially the beginning.
“Everyone is going to press play on their music and it’s just going to be ‘musical chaos.’ I’m talking, like, dancing music over here, EDM, house, techno, anything that you want, whatever your heart desires. Whatever gets you pumpin’.”
It’s a free event for the whole family, so she promises an easy route for everyone to enjoy.
“I’m a big believer in fun for anyone and all ages so there’s not going to be any huge hills so don’t worry about whatever physical shape you’re in. If you haven’t ridden a bike in 20 years but you have one sitting in the back of your garage bring it out, go to the dollar store, grab some glow sticks and get ready to have a good time.”
Dochstader recommends everyone brings their favourite music and wears their helmet.
