The Prince George Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 1900 block of Ross Cres.
Assistant Fire Chief Daryl Kloschinsky says they received the call about 3 p.m. Friday.
“As we left the hall we could see a large column of black smoke, upon arrival and the crews got here quite quickly, we found a garage at the back of the house that was fully involved extending onto the back of the house.”
“The crews knocked down the fire quickly and we sent in a an interior crew to make sure the fire did not extend any further into the home.”
Kloschinsky says 17 fire fighters from three halls responded.
One person was home when the fire started but no injuries were reported.
Damage is estimated at $70,000.00
