There will be tons of creative activities on offer at this year’s BMO KidzArt Dayz, which is celebrating its 26th year this year.
The free event takes place tomorrow and Saturday from 10am until 3pm. There will be live music in the plaza – including a very special guest.
“We’ve got Fred Penner headlining on our stage both days at 11am,” says event coordinator Talia Bleiler. “We’ve got over 15 art activities being run by the gallery and volunteers.”
Bleiler says they’re still in need of some volunteers to help run the activities.
“If anyone’s interested in helping out, they can call the Gallery at 250-614-7800 or they can email me at [email protected].”
Blyler says Two Rivers Gallery is adding some new activities this year, including Tie Dying, finger-printing and a community mural.
“It’s a joint project between Two Rivers Gallery and the Prince George Public Library. If you’ve seen that big ugly construction site next to the library, it’s got this big wooden barricade around it. We’ve primed a big section of it and we’re going to be painting a mural there during KidzArt Dayz.”
Community organizations including Huble Homestead, Exploration Place, the Prince George Native friendship Centre, UNBC and many others will be in attendance will creative activities as well.
There will also be food from Two Rivers Catering and the Frozen Paddle Ice Cream Truck.
The event will run rain or shine.
“Weather’s not going to be an issue. Everything’s going to be either under a tent or inside the building so if it rains, it’s still a go!”
