You’d want to keep your windows open in the summer, but there’s a few things health officials want you to know if you’ve got kids.
The BC Ambulance Service says they see numerous critical injuries resulting in kids falling out of windows and balconies.
Even though Prince George isn’t known for its skyscrapers, Chief Marilyn Oberg says a fall from a couple feet can cause some damage.
Oberg warns that a screen offers no protection to keep kids inside and furniture near windows only increases the risk.
She says it has already happened once this year, with an average summer seeing 18 injuries caused by falling out of a window.
