PG MS Walk raises over $20,000

Through this year’s MS Walk, local residents raised $20,335.70 for disease research funding.

More than 120 people enjoyed fun activities like face painting and walked around Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park on Sunday.

Fundraising Coordinator Penny Brown says it was special seeing “everyone there with their family and friends, helping to raise money for the worthwhile cause” made the event special.

Having Multiple sclerosis herself, Brown hopes events like this will raise both awareness and funding.

“I was diagnosed in 2011 and up until then, I didn’t really know anything about MS. When it doesn’t affect you, you don’t know.”

Of the 100,000 Canadians living with MS, 12,000 are from BC or the Yukon.
