The Siphon Creek wildfire has grown to about 75,400 hectares.
While the fire didn’t spread as much as expected on Monday, it did grow 14,000 hectares between Friday and Tuesday morning.
Fire Information Officer Erin Catherall says there are 177 firefighters on scene among other important pieces.
“We have eleven helicopters and fifteen pieces of heavy equipment. The heavy equipment is working hard to establish containment lines in the areas that observed new growth over the weekend,” he says.
To the East, Beatton Airport Road wildfire caused an evacuation order on Sunday.
It’s now at 15,000 hectares and is about 45% contained.
