A 65 year old man is in RCMP custody following an attempted armed robbery on Kingston Avenue yesterday morning.
At about 8:30 am, Prince George RCMP received a report of shots fired at a business on the 100 block of Kingston Avenue and responded with multiple units.
When they arrived on the scene, officers were told a man with a rifle had entered the business and demanded cash. The suspect fired a single shot into the wall of the business and fled the scene in a pick-up truck. No one was hurt during the incident and the suspect did not manage to take anything of value.
RCMP investigators arrested the suspect at an East Perry Road residence that afternoon. He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Provincial Court this afternoon.
Crown Counsel is considering multiple robbery and firearms related charges.
