The BC Court of Appeal has upheld Councillor Brian Skakun’s conviction over the Freedom of Information Act.
Skakun says he’s not surprised at the verdict, and though he hoped to win, is now glad it’s over.
Skakun was convicted in 2011 for leaking a document on RCMP working conditions to local media.
He argued that being elected to council exempted him from the Freedom of Information Act, but the B-C Supreme Court did not agree.
