A local man has been charged following a Tuesday morning driving incident that RCMP is calling “bizarre.”
Just before 7:30, RCMP got a call of a hit & run along Highway 97.
Minutes later, Police received a call of a southbound vehicle causing sparks along the highway.
Upon arrival, Police found a severely damaged service truck in a ditch near Highway 97 and Chestnut Drive. The vehicle only had 3 tires (which police believe caused the sparks).
Police say the 25-year-old driver fled the scene and was found at a nearby home shortly before 9.
He’s been charged with the following:
· Drive without Due Care and Attention
· Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident
· 24 Hour Driving Suspension (alcohol)
