Rivermen wash away Spruce Kings

The Prince George Spruce Kings fell to the Langley Rivermen 7-1 today (Sun).

Langley opened the scoring at 11:39 on the power-play courtesy of Matty Saharchuk.

Jason O’Neill would add to the lead at 14:50 to make it 2-0.

Just before the end of the period, Adam Burnett put the Spruce Kings on the board to cut the deficit in half at 2-1.

Neither team found the back of the next in the second.

The Rivermen exploded for five unanswered goals in the third from William Campion, Jordan Schneider, Max Kaufman, Troy Ring and Ryan Barrow.

Prince George was outshot 35-20 overall.

Liam McCloskey allowed 6 goals on 33 shots in the loss.

The Spruce Kings continue on the road Friday in Surrey.
