Two in custody after chase with PG RCMP

Two young men are facing charges related to a stolen truck after a run in with PG RCMP and the Police Service Dog, Dero.

RCMP received a call around 6:30 am this morning regarding a Chevy pickup that had been stolen overnight from a home on Quadrant Crescent near Queensway.

Later in the afternoon, Police spotted the truck being driven along 20th avenue.

The driver resisted attempts to pull the vehicle over, ramming two police vehicles before taking off on foot with a male passenger.

The driver was arrested with the assistance of Police Dog Dero, and the passenger was captured after a brief foot chase.

The youth male driver and the 19 year old male passenger are facing a number of charges, and will be held in custody until they can appear in Provincial Court later this week.
