It’s not only an important weekend for the Prince George Cougars (who host the Victoria Royals tonight (Friday) and Saturday), but also the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
The Saturday game MEGA 50/50 will benefit the foundation, with 100 per cent of proceeds going towards critical equipment for its Cardiac Care Unit at UHNBC.
“Our cardiac care team delivers exceptional, lifesaving care in the North every day, but the need continues to grow.” said Aimee Cassie, CEO of Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
“The support of our community through the MEGA 50/50 helps ensure our patients have access to the best equipment and treatment while we work towards full interventional cardiac care —right here at home.”
Cardiac care nurses will be attending both games to give a better understanding on how vital the equipment is, and show the work being done on a daily basis.
Those unable to attend the games can still get 50/50 tickets online here.
The winner will be drawn Saturday night.
