Spring to have some warm weather and precipitation in Prince George

Spring will kick off at 2am tomorrow, and Prince George is looking to have some favourable weather.

Temperatures are forecast to be 2 to 3 degrees above normal, however there’s a chance to see some wet snow fall in the area.

Derek Lee, Meteorologist with Environment Canada says over the next seven days, could be a flip-flop between rain and wet flurries.

“Most of the temperatures are going to be warm enough that even if we do see some snow in the area, it shouldn’t be accumulating, and that’s thanks to the sun coming out and longer daylight hours now and onwards.”

“Right now, we’re sitting at probably daytime highs of 7 to 8 degrees moving forward.”

Lee adds they don’t anticipate heavy downpours or snowfalls, and by mid-week next week, we could see temperatures rise up to 15 degrees.

Seasonal temperatures this time of year typically sit around 5 degrees for daytime highs, with overnights at minus 7, which isn’t supposed to be met this week.

Lee says during a night with clear skies, we could reach as low as minus 5, but will be hovering around 1 degree most days.
