Sitting doesn’t kill you?

We have all heard the saying “Sitting will kill you” but a new study shows sitting for lengthy stretches doesn’t make death more imminent.

Researchers tracked 16 years worth of data from people based on how long they sat combined with physical activity and did not notice a difference.

Some experts believe the problem lies with a lack of movement rather than the amount of time spent sitting.

A 2010 study from the U.S, tracked 123 thousand adults over a 14 year span and found people who sat more than six hours a day had a 18 percent higher mortality rate.
