The Cariboo Cougars won’t settle for just two points on Saturday night when they face the South Island Royals.
They’re also looking to raise money for breast cancer.
“Breast cancer is one of those diseases that impacts nearly everyone,” says event coordinator Amy Dhanjal. “Everyone knows a family member or a friend who’s gone through this, so on Saturday night, we’re really looking forward to raising money to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and the valuable work that they do.”
Workers from CIBC Run For The Cure will be on hand accepting donations and selling pink pucks for the chuck-a-puck contest.
The game will also include prizes, the chance to win a special pink Cariboo Cougars jersey, and a few surprises from the PG Cougars.
It won’t be the only time this season the team suits up for charity, either.
“The Cariboo Cougars are well known for some of their special nights! One of the things they do every year is the Jameson Jones night to support the BC Children’s Hospital, and that’s always a blast.”
Admission is by donation, and all proceeds will go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Puck drops against the South Island Royals Saturday night at 7:15.
