BC Premier David Eby said he’ll be moving in the near future to try to eliminate inter-provincial trade barriers.
Eby’s model is a bill introduced in Nova Scotia earlier this week.
Under that legislation, all goods produced in another province with similar legislation would be allowed into Nova Scotia with no additional tests or fees.
As well, any professional licensed in the province, such as doctors and lawyers, would be able to work in Nova Scotia.
The premier stated Trade Minister Diana Gibson will push for all jurisdictions to institute this “mutual recognition approach” when she meets with her provincial and territorial counterparts this week.
