The NHL regular season resumes on Saturday.
The (26-18-11) Vancouver Canucks visit the (33-17-6) Vegas Golden Knights Saturday night at 7:00.
The Canucks hold down the 2nd and final wild-card spot in the Western Conference, three points ahead of the (26-21-8) Calgary Flames.
WHL:
The (31-17-4-2) Prince George Cougars are in Victoria to play the (32-15-3-6) Royals Friday and Saturday.
Prince George is second in the B.C. Division, five points behind Victoria with P.G. holding two games in hand.
The Cougars have 14 regular season games left; their remaining schedule has 7 home and 7 away; four games each against Victoria and Wenatchee, two each against Kamloops and Kelowna and one each against Vancouver and Everett.
With 12 games to go, the Royals remaining schedule has 7 home and 5 away; four games against P.G., two each against Vancouver, Portland and Spokane and one each against Kamloops and Kelowna.
BCHL:
The Prince George Spruce Kings host the Coastal Conference-leading (27-9-5) Chilliwack Chiefs tonight at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00.
The (17-20-3-1) Spruce Kings have won four straight to move within three points of the (17-19-6-1) Langley Rivermen for the 8th and final playoff spot in the BCHL’s Coastal Conference.
Prince George has 13 games left (7 home and 6 away) while Langley has 11 remaining (6 home and 5 away).
BC Elite Hockey League:
The (24-6-3-1) Under-18 Cariboo Cougars close out their regular season when they visit the (15-14-3-3) Vancouver NE Chiefs Saturday afternoon at 3:00 in Burnaby and the (24-9-0-1) Valley West Giants Sunday morning at 9:30 in Langley.
The U-18 Cougars are in first place by three points over the Giants in the BC Elite Hockey League.
Curling:
Thunder Bay is hosting the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
BC’s Corryn Brown and her rink out of Kamloops went 6-2 during the round robin and have clinched a playoff spot.
Play continues today (Friday). The first and second place teams will face each other with the losers of those games facing the third place teams in a sudden death win and advance to the quarter-finals.
NBA:
The (17-38) Toronto Raptors return to action tonight when they host the (25-28) Miami Heat.
The Raptors are 5 games out of the last play-in spot in the Eastern Conference.
