Sirens Cup draws highest donation amount in third year

The Firefighters won the game 5-3 but the real winners of the third annual Sirens Cup were Cops for Cancer: Tour de North and the Prince George Firefighters Charitable Society.

“While we are a little saddened to have lost the round this year, the real focus of the game is raising money for two great charities,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper of the Prince George RCMP.

“We are all very glad to be able to give back to the communities we serve in such a fun and positive way, while engaging in a friendly competition at the same time.”

Cooper says the donations are still being tallied, but preliminary numbers show the game has raised more than $9,500, which will be split between the two charities.
