Surrey Eagles  7  Prince George Spruce Kings  5

The (12-18-3-1) Spruce Kings play their next game on Wednesday of next week against the Clippers in Nanaimo when they begin a 3-game Island road trip.

Prince George is 9th out of 10 in the Coastal Conference, two points behind the (14-17-2) Clippers.

WHL: 

The Prince George Cougars host the (22-15-3-2) Brandon Wheat Kings Friday night at 7:00 and the (15-24-3) Kamloops Blazers Saturday night at 6:00 on Indigenous weekend at CN Centre.

The Wheat Kings beat the Blazers 6-3 Wednesday night in Kamloops.

The (24-14-3-2) Cougars are second in the BC Division, four points behind the (25-12-3-4) Victoria Royals.

The Under-18 Cariboo Cougars visit the (10-10-2-3) Vancouver North West Hawks Saturday night at 6:00 and Sunday morning at 11:00 in North Van.

The (18-6-1-1) Cougars are in 2nd place in the 8-team BC Elite Hockey League, a point behind the (19-7-0-1) Valley West Giants.

PG Sirens Cup:

The Sirens Cup Charity hockey game involving local Mounties and the Prince George Fire Department will take place Saturday starting at 2 PM from the Kopar Memorial Arena.

Proceeds from the game will support the PG Firefighters Charitable Society and Cops for Cancer Tour de North.

 

Canada West basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves are in Kamloops to play the TRU WolfPack in Canada West basketball.

Games go Friday (noon for the women and 5:30 for the men) and Saturday (4:00 for the women and 6:00 for the men).

The UNBC women are 3-9 while the UNBC men sit 1-11.

The TRU women are 0-13 while the TRU men are 6-8.

The winners meet in the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb 9th in New Orleans.
