Northern Days is returning to UNBC, hosted by the Northern Studies Program.
The yearly event, which goes from Monday to Friday, highlights the leadership in northern and mountain research, featuring various professors talking about their field.
Grad Student for Natural Resources and Environmental Studies, Mackenzie Ostberg talks about what attendees can expect.
“Dr. Gail Fondahl will be speaking about the changing in relationship with Russia and the Arctic Relations in regards to the war.”
“With Dr. Graham McDowell, people will have an opportunity to learn the first Canadian mountain assessment, which was done in 2023.”
Ostberg says the event is a way to see UNBC’s role in the north, with a wealth of knowledge for people who work in related fields.
Other professors including Dr. Joseph Shea, Dr. Tristan Pearce, and Dr. Gary Wilson will also share their expertise during the event.
Both presentations will be on Friday, with Dr. Fondahl’s from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, and Dr. McDowell’s from 12:00pm to 1:30pm at the UNBC Prince George Campus.
