There was a drug bust at the Willow Inn Motel on Front Street in Quesnel.
Quesnel RCMP Staff Sergeant Richard Weseen says their Crime Reduction Unit executed three simultaneous search warrants on the 800 block of Front Street yesterday (Thursday) afternoon at around 3 o’clock.
“During a week long drug investigation the police observed drug trafficking activity that involved people from three of the suites. The search warrants resulted in the seizure of drugs, cash, packaging materials and two pistols. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid at this time.”
Weseen says the search warrants were conducted with an assist from neighboring communities.
“The search warrants were executed with the assistance of a police dog from Prince George as well as the Cariboo Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit from Williams Lake.”
Weseen says they are committed to keeping the community safe.
“The Quesnel RCMP is committed to reducing community harm through targeted enforcement. Those that chose to sell drugs in a motel or hotel environment place the other tenants at risk for violent crimes. In addition the traffickers are distributing their toxic drug supply to the vulnerable where there is no legal or safe place to consume in the vicinity.”
A video of the drug bust was captured by a community member.
