A three game road trip got off to a rocky start for the Prince George Spruce Kings after a 7-3 loss to the Trail Smoke Eaters tonight (Fri).
Prince George struck first 1:36 in after Adam Brubacher scored unassisted.
Shortly after, Cooper Sande drew Trail even at 1 after 20 minutes after scoring at 5:19.
Trail would score three unanswered goals in a 6:40 span courtesy of Nick Halloran, Max Newton and Ross Armour to put the home side up 4-1 after 40 minutes.
The Spruce Kings would draw within two three minutes into the third when Kyle Johnson took advantage of a feed from Braiden Epp to make it 4-2.
Both clubs would then trade markers from John Laurito and Corey Hoffman to make it a 5-3 game.
Trail would go on to score two more from Cooper Leitch and Nick Halloran.
Prince George was outshot 27-26 and will play Vernon tomorrow (Sat) before heading to Salmon Arm on Sunday.
