Business owners bring sound and visual expertise to Prince George events

You may not know who they are, but you may have seen and heard their work.

Former DJ’s Nigel Rimmer and Darren Hanson took over a retiring audio-visual business in 2023 to continue bringing events to life in Prince George.

Rimmer says everything happened to fall into place when they were working together.

“We found ourselves collaborating on major events. We would do a New Year’s event or we’d be hired by someone to put together a big event for them.” says Rimmer.

“We just found that we worked really well together, and we thought we should collaborate and start a business together.”

Rimmer says it’s been a steep learning curve for them but approach it with an entertainment perspective, noting it’s an advantage they have.

He added this industry takes a while to build trust and reputation, as the first year is make or break for their business, as a mess up could deter potential repeat clients.

Where they were a year ago is vastly different to where they are now, as they helped work on sound and visuals for Northern Fan Con at the CN Centre, and other events.

Rimmer says 2025 is shaping up to be a busier year as they look to do be part of Northern Fan Con for another year at CN Centre, the PRIDE Picnic, and other exciting events.
