Santa makes early stop for hospital patients in Prince George

The University Hospital of Northern British Columbia had a special guest stop by.

Bells rung as Santa Claus arrived to the Pediatric Ward, bringing cheer, joy, and gifts for kids.

Santa says it shows that he knows where these kids are.

“That’s really the purpose of my visit, to drop off a small gift early, but more importantly to let them know there will be more gifts at the foot of their bed on Christmas morning, that Santa knows that they’re not home this year or may not be home this year, but I’ll find them every time.”

Santa also made stops at other departments, including the short term stay unit to see seniors.

Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation CEO, Aimee Cassie says this reminds everyone of what the season is about, and helps remove people from the chaos of the hospital, and from whatever is going on in their life that has them in the hospital.

She added that a number of elves in the community helped put the gifts together.
