Prince George area residence can expect a dump of snow overnight.
Environment Canada expects 10 to 15 centimetres of snow to fall through this evening (December 17th) to early Wednesday morning.
Meteorologist, Derek Lee talks about the system moving through.
“We have a pretty strong system moving across most of BC today. It’s a good channel of sub-tropical moisture, similar to an atmospheric river, but when it’s getting to BC its fairly weak compared to what Washington and Oregon state will see, but nonetheless, still lots of precipitation throughout the province.”
Lee says the heaviest snowfall is expected to be around after midnight, with temperatures switching to a more mild trend at around 0 degrees.
Areas included in the warning include Quesnel, Williams Lake, and Stuart – Nechako south of Highway 16.
They said visibility may suddenly be reduced at times, and to be prepared to adjust your diving to the road conditions.
Another snowfall warning is currently in place Highway 97 and Pine Pass.
