Prince George Cougars  3  Spokane Chiefs  1  (Saturday)

P.G. goalie Cooper Michaluk made 33 saves against his former team as the Cougars ended the Chiefs 10-game win streak.

Michaluk lost his bid for a shutout with just 29 seconds left in the 3rd period.

The (17-9-3-2) Cougars are tied with the (17-10-3-2) Victoria Royals for first in the B.C. Division with Prince George having a game in hand.

The Cougars will visit the (13-13-2-1) Kelowna Rockets Tuesday night at 7:05 in their final game prior to the Christmas break.

The U-18 Cougars are in first place in the 8-team BC Elite Hockey league, a point ahead of the (15-5-0-1) Valley West Giants.

The (15-3-1-1) U-18 Cougars host the (2-18) Thompson Blazers Saturday night at 6:30 at Kin 1 and Sunday morning at 11:45 at CN Centre.

Nordic Ski:

The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club will host the 2025 International Biathlon Union Regional Event, and the Biathlon Canada Youth and Junior World Championship Trials Jan. 3rd to 7th.

Athletes aged 15 and up will be competing for a spot on Canada’s National team for the Youth and Junior World Championships, which will take place in Sweden.
