A return to normal weather expected in Prince George following rainy week

It’s been a wet start to December for the Prince George area, with rain falling for a big chunk of last week.

“In Prince George, there’s three different measurements,” explained Operational Meteorologist Jennifer Kowal.

“42.6 is the lowest at the automatic station at the Airport, and then the Massey rain gauge had 68.8 millimetres.”

Kowal added Hixon recorded 78.8 millimetres of rain last week.

For this week, Kowal said we’re looking at a return to normal for the Prince George area.

“Right now we’ve got a ridge that’s about to set up over the province, and so this weather’s going to be really nice,” she said.

“Today (Sunday), tomorrow, Tuesday, we’re looking at fair weather, a little bit foggy in morning in the valleys, maybe, and then nice, clear out during the day and some sunny skies.”

Kowal added another weather system is expected late in the day on Tuesday and into Wednesday, and Prince George can expect some flurries on Wednesday.
