PG RCMP set up Crime Prevention Meetings

Crime preventers in Prince George are looking to connect with the community.

The Prince George RCMP Crime Prevention Unit has organized 3 regional information evenings for Crime Watch, Block Watch and members of the public to ask questions and network with local police and other services.

“We just want to share information” said Community Policing Coordinator Linda Parker. “We’ll have representatives there from the RCMP, Community Policing, from City and Regional Parks, Conservation to share some information and open up the floor to any concerns.”

Police are hoping to get more feedback from residents by holding larger meetings.

“Typically we meet more often with Rural Crime Watch and Block Watch groups” said Parker. “So we thought we would try to be more efficient and have some regional meetings rather than meeting with smaller groups.”

The first meeting is at 7pm this Tuesday at the Hart Pioneer Centre.

There will be two more meetings on October 21st and November 17th.
