October saw a bit of a bounce-back month when it comes to building permit values in Prince George.
According to staff report presented to Prince George City Council at this week’s meeting, the City issued 31 building permits worth a combined $33.7 million.
This was bolstered by residential developments of several different types.
One new multi-family development with 75 units brought in $16.2 million, while eight new single-family dwellings brought in $5.5 million.
Additionally, two permits for institutional alterations were issued, worth a combined $10 million.
As of the end of October, the City has issued 354 building permits, worth a combined $246.8 million.
Director of Planning and Development says both the October numbers and the year to date numbers tell a positive story.
“They’re across all categories of building permits, we’ve seen contributions to this honestly a record breaking year,” she said.
She also noted we’re headed towards a quieter time of year for construction, but she’s hoping to continue this trajectory into 2025.
