The Prince George Cougars survived a late comeback effort to pick up the 6-3 win over the Kamloops Blazers.
The Cougars had a 4-1 lead heading into the third, before Tommy Lafreniere and former Cougar Oren Shtrom brought the Blazers back within one.
“I think we were stubborn,” said Associate Coach Jim Playfair on the post game show on 94.3 the Goat.
“We were stubborn, we tried to turn pucks over, we tried to make plays, we caused a lot of their offense just by our inability to recognize what was going on in the game, how we had to play behind their defense.”
Koehn Ziemmer’s third of the night was a dagger to put the Cougars up 5-3, and Borya Valis potted an empty-netter to seal the victory and send the 3,339 fans at the Sandman Centre home sad.

Kayden Lemire and Terik Parascak scored a goal each in the win.
Parascak added two assists to give him 15 points in his last six games.
Josh Ravensbergen got the start for the Cats, making 27 saves.
