The Punjabi Seniors Society raised $46,304 for healthcare through its 13th annual Bike-A-Thon.
Spirit of The North Healthcare Foundation has been the recipient of the society’s donation since the event’s start, which has raised over $200,000.
CEO, Aimee Cassie talks about the money going to strength and cardiac care in northern BC.
“That has been our area of greatest need for the north for the last number of years, and is something we’re continually striving for.” says Cassie.
“We’ve recently opened the first cardiac care unit at UHNBC, and that is the first step in providing stronger cardiac care for the north.”
Cassie added the society chooses a need for the north every year, and have been championing cardiac care for a number of years.
She says the society is a dedicated group that comes together every year holding an organic fundraising campaign.
