Body of Dawson Creek woman found in Grande Prairie

The Grande Prairie RCMP has identified found human remains belonging to a deceased Dawson Creek woman.

On October 21st, police were dispatched to reports of human remains in an area northwest of city limits and determined they belonged to Megan Butler.

Police confirmed Butler led a “high-risk” lifestyle; however, the investigation is not being treated as a homicide.

As of Tuesday (October 29th), the investigation remains open and police are asking for anyone who may have dash cam footage captured on October 21st, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on 116th Street between 104th Avenue and 132nd Avenue to come forward.
