Pedestrian struck and killed on Barkerville Highway

Quesnel RCMP were called to the scene of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle on Saturday (Oct 26) night at 7:46 p.m.

Sergeant Clay Kronebusch says the accident happened near the 4 Mile Store.

“A pickup truck had struck a pedestrian that was attempting to cross the roadway. The 64-year old man that was struck died as a result of the injuries sustained from the collision.”

Kronebusch says the driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and has been cooperative with police.

The victim’s name has not been released and no other details have been released.

An investigation continues.
